I subscribe to a monthly fiction podcast offered by The New Yorker and yesterday listened twice to Donald Antrim read Donald Barthelme's short story, I Bought a Little City. It was my first exposure to Barthelme and it won't be my last - Sixty Stories is destined to join my ever-growing book tower and, in the meantime, I'm working my way through the Barthelme on Jessamyn West's web site. So much to read, so little time...

I just started subscribing to that podcast myself and LOVED the Barthelme story. I've read his work before, but not that one. It was amazing and I thought Antrim's comments on why he chose it were just as fascinating as the story.
